Elk viewing - Orick, CA

If your traveling north through Humboldt county, just north of Trinidad, CA is a small little town of Orick that has herds of Elk wandering the meadows. If stopping to see them, please be aware that if you get too close they may charge you. So remember to keep a safe distance. These majestic animals are amazing to see. Granted it is a hit or miss on seeing them. A few years ago when I went they were too far away or we missed seeing them. Glad the two times we went we got to see a whole herd.
